Who would benefits from buses?

If a city were to add more buses to it's routes that are very busy. Who would benefit from it and why?

you would if it encourages more people to ride then there would be less pollution and a half full bus still uses half the energy as the average one person car! a half full 20 foot bus with a 12 people still makes less traffic than 12 10 foot cars!
