Is life one big question that will be answered in the end? Or is it one big answer and we just don't know the question? Possibly many questions with many different answers? Can we ever know the answer and if not, does it make sense to try and figure life out? Is a life wasted questioning a wasted life or is it the other way around and one should always question? We can never truly hope to figure it out in this life, so should we even bother? Perhaps there is no meaning at all. I realize this is all very generic and people could say just about anything to answer it. That's why I asked.

Thinking too much some might say - yet to live life without questioning, is that not a life that is ultimately shallow and futile?
One can say I know not therefore I live on what I do know, but that is not the same as not questioning since it is true that questions without answers should be left aside, for the moment.
How we live our lives is a decision based on what we really believe in. People can be very fake, maybe we have all been there but as maturity comes in, the emptiness of chasing wind suddenly becomes apparent.
Does life mean anything when people nod and smile, yet you also know that the smiles were not really there? By this I mean they smiled only because they wanted something from you ... ...
When has flattery meant anything apart from delusions?
Life is intricate and delicate because no man is the same and no one can truly understand us since no two people truly can syncronize perfectly. And it is thus that we have to decide what we believe in. Everyone can catch glimpse of what the right thing to do is, but if the majority walks away, does peer pressure become too great?
In the bottom of our heart, we do know what the right thing to do is - we know why we do the things we do and words from strangers been naught when the truth had always been that to live life is to embrace challenges which includes maybe even disappointing our love ones if they are no longer walking in ways proper.

Your question has so many facets to it, it's hard to "answer." What I'm focusing on is your: "Perhaps there is no meaning at all." If this is about the "meaning of life"--it's simple. To thrive. & I won't go into a diatribe about what that means to me. LIFE or LIVING? Living requires questions to some extent. (I liked John Doe 1st--forks in the road.) That's on an entirely different plane than "is life one big question." If you're referring to an absolute answer, or no answer, I wouldn't even go there. Also, may I suggest--if you consider "either or" without shades of gray, you'll wind up feeling like you're in a hamster cage running on that wheel to no place. EVERY question has a different answer to different people, & to the same person at different times. Yes, perhaps it's a bit "too" generic, but I suspect you mean THE BIG ANSWER. WHY ARE WE HERE sort of thing. I wouldn't even bother.

Edit: One last thought. Think about the difference between "the meaning of life," & how one lives it.

Every question has an answer, because you can ponder about anything. Perhaps life will be answered at the end. To me, life is only wasted when you do not have questions, and truly, we can not determine why we are here and why life exists. Life won't have an answer if you don't ask a question. And you have. Good for you.

Life is neither if you don't question it, and life is both if you do.

Life is the infinite ways to make 0. 1-1, 1+1-2, 1+1+1-2-1, -1+1+1-1, ectra ectra. With so many ways to write it down, it was bound to look like what we're all doing right now.

Life is a series of questions and answers.

I prefer to think of Life as a series of forks in the road; choices to be made.
