Yes, it is bad. Your friend did the right thing by taking her baby to see a doctor. She might want to see the doctor again if it doesn't stop in a day or two.

It is very dangerous for a baby to have any type of intestinal problem for more than a couple of days. Babies can get seriously dehydrated in a very short period of time. If he is drinking the pedialite; he should be fine.
She may want to check with the hospital staff by phone and ask how long he will still remain sick. If they do not give her a satisfactory answer, she needs to get her baby back to the doctors or the hospital immediately.
She is the best advocate for the health of her baby, and should absolutely be questioning the doctors on a daily basis. Her baby cannot speak for himself and ask for help, so she has to do so.
You are a wonderful friend to be trying to get help for your friend and her baby, bless you all and best wishes for the baby's good health.

Its normal to heve diarhhoea for abt 2 weeks my son just came up with it abt 2 wks ago and seemed to have for a week. Do not treat the baby with and kind of anti diarhhoeal drug unless prescribed by the pediatrician. Give the baby his normal feed formula or breast milk and keep him hydrated that's the key. Use pedialyte non flavored one as most of the babies would not like the taste of the flavoured one but some do. If he doesn't seem to take it then use it prepare the formula instead of water that's absolutely fine. If dia.. is really worse give pedialyte every two hours. There is a drug called Florester that has newly arrived in the market and seems to have no side effects ask your pediatrician abt it. i didn't use it for my baby as he seemed to be alright in abt a week but i know of some one who did use it and worked out for her but make sure to ask ur pediatrician abt it and do check on the internet

hey Jess are you extreme or is this question a typo. Do you mean 3 years previous? Take him to the wellbeing care expert if thats the case reason he would desire to have been walking a minimum of eleven/2 years in the past.

He probably has a stomach bug. Has she consulted with her pediatrician? Pedialyte is good for this but being tat young he still needs the formula too. You really should have him looked at again.

Keep giving him pedialyte and stop giving him formula. She needs to keep him hydrated with the Pedialyte. Good luck.
