It is a very common experience dating from Eve taking dietary advice from a talking snake.

The biggest contributor to the New Testament of the Bible, St Paul, also experienced this (see quote). This, I believe, is not the original state of humankind, but was a break away from our true self.

Anything with such a contradiction will need to be repaired before it leads to it's own demise. (eg: A bucket with a hole will be repaired or tossed).

The fact that we have a conscience to guide us to do the right thing and leaves us regretful when we go against it, proves that there is a force that also desires we get things back on track.

Jesus thought we could get past the contradictions. He gave guideline in the Sermon on the Mount, (Matthew chaps 5 to 7) with a decree "You, therefore, must be perfect, as your Father in Heaven is perfect" (Mt 5:48)

Can't relate to this "we" you are referring to.
I do NOT choose wrong, when I am aware of what is right.
I think that you may be giving humans too much regard as many do not genuinely know the difference between right and wrong-yes, perhaps on the big and obvious stuff, but when it comes to emotions, people are pretty messed up as a result of childhood abuse, woundedness, etc. and they don't know. Oh and many do what "feels good" at the moment and that is often not what would be considered the best thing for them. With age comes more wisdom.

Right and wrong or Good and evil don't exist in reality, at least not outside of the mind that believes in them. They are only judgments passed by the individual from their own unique perspective. What one person sees as bad or evil may seem to be the only logical thing to do from some other perspective. The ideas of both good and evil are point of view specific. This is why people like bush and bin laden are either loved or hated. Bush is seen as good by people who share his fear based thought system. Those who have a compassionate concern for all of mankind often see him as evil.

Bin laden is much the same. He is a villain in much of the western world, but he is somewhat of a celebrated pop star on the Middle East. There are T-shirt shops that sell items with his picture as though he was Jesus. It all depends on your point of view or perspective.

To sum it all up good is the name we give to people who do things that we think we like.

Evil is the name we give to people who do the things that we don’t like.

This is of course based solely on our particular point of view.

It takes courage and strength to do the right thing. The wrong things are easier to do. Only the good people strive to do the right things everyday. Some people just prefer the easy way out. They don't have the guts to do the right thing.

who says whats right and wrong? what you say is wrong i may believe is right. a man kills another man am i wrong in killing him as part of justice? many people believe that yes it's right and many people believe no, that it is not right.
there are many things people do every day that another person may believe is wrong.
"No matter how you exist— as long as there is the ability to choose, someone will choose to do something you don’t like."

We don't always predict the potential outcomes or consequences very well. Wrong seems to meet a need in the moment and we can choose to ignore that we know better, or we truly don't know better.

We think we can get away with it. That's why. Why should I work for 30 years to earn what I could in 5 selling drugs to kids?
At least that is what I would tell myself if I wanted to become a criminal.

God left us a good purpose in life and that is to fight against Satan, because that is the hardest thing to do, if we win we win eternity.....
