Thats a great dream, for anyone, no matter who you are. There are plenty of female airline pilots, dont let being a girl stop you from doing this. I dont know what being "preppy" has to do with it. Anyway, never let anyone block you from fulfilling your dreams, ambition and follow through will get you there. Go for it, keep on dreaming, you'll get there eventually, if the drive is in you to do so. I was in the Air Force for 5 years,(78-83), and back then i couldnt fly because of diabetes, now a days, you can be a diabetic and fly, however, it has to be totally under control, and of course, written documents from the doctor and all that stuff. But im doing something else Ive found that I can love doing and now Im just as satisfied, but thats only because, I gave up on it when I contracted diabetes and like I said, during those times, there wasnt the advances that we have today. But anyway, never let your dreams die, especially today when things are so easy to go for. Keep on truckin, and Good Luck with the dream. Aim High doll!!

Absolutely not. (You are not waisting your time that is). I used to be a pilot, a private pilot, and I was rather shocked at how many woman were into flying. So I understand your point of view that it is sexist. However, there is nothing that makes men better pilots then woman. So I think, if you want to do that for a living go for it. However, as you probably know, getting a job in that profession is not that easy, and is quite expensive to get all the experience yo need. So Go for it and good luck!

I didnt know dreams discriminated. What would be the real waste here would be if you didnt follow your dreams. Like Disney World says "if you can dream it then you can do it." There is absolutely nothing wrong with your dream. All you need to do is figure out how to achieve it. Men dont have the lock down on being pilots. Remember if you want something then youre willing to take a risk, but if you want something bad enough then youll risk it all. Follow your dream like Danica Patrick or anyone else. You can do it and dont ever let anyone tell you otherwise. Good luck

Who says there are not woman pilots? I flew from San Jose, Ca to Las Vegas, Nevada this weekend, and the piltos going both ways were woman. If you want to be a pilot, my advice to you would be start studying now, that way you have a head start on it. Also, look into taking lessons, I know some schools will allow teenagers if the show enough maturity to fly.

Andre from Mercedes Lackey's Diana Tregarde study sequence ( a more effective powerful Vampire than all something ) Aravan - Dennis Mckiernan's Mithgar books Roark - J.D.Robb In demise sequence Harry Dresden-Jim Butcher's Dresden information sequence Fang- James Patterson's maximum holiday sequence ***caution to all you Twilight followers- My favourite sequence the Diana Tregarde Investigations sequence had to be decrease short because some loopy fan couldn't determine out that they were characters in a e book and *no longer particular of all the information* yet interior the end the author change into now no longer in a position to create more effective memories in that sequence. so one ruined it for all. no longer declaring any of you're that loopy basically keep in ideas they're characters in a e book. they don't look to be authentic. i do not pick to work out that take position with this sequence besides..... thanks******

Really now, I may have the same problem of "am I wasting my time on a dream?", but saying that because it's not a woman's job is just wrong. As long as they don't say no(if it's because it's full then there's nothing you can do about it but if it's because you are a woman, then take action and don't let them keep you down because that's sexist) then you can do whatever you want.
Hope this was helpful. If not, then sorry.......

Girl, you can do whatever you want to do. Don't let the fact that it is a "man's job" stop you. I am a car sales associate, I work with 7 guys and I hold my own with them. Do what you wanna do.

Do what you want to do. Ans since it runs in your family why wouldn't they support you? Seems like everyone is in the same business anyways...
