My wife accidently dropped one of her birth control pill in the car last night and we couldnt find it so she didnt take it yesterday? What next? Does she take the one for today and continue like if nothing happened? or does she have to take two today? if so, what happens with the one she is suppose to take at the end of her pack? Plz help. Thank you.

because she missed a pill her chances of getting pregnant to raise- but not significantly.
Each pill nowadays has a half life of 24 hours- that means on pill is effective for 2 days. So the pill she took yesterday will cover today even if she didn't take one.
Just be careful and use other contraceptives until after her next period ends.

You CAN get pregnant after missing only one pill. It depends where in the pack she was and what kind of pills she has. Yes, she should take 2 today to make up for yesterday, but be careful for the rest of this month because there is still the slight chance she could have ovulated by missing that pill. The worst times to miss a pill are the beginning and end of the cycle.

Tell her to half one of the pills and take it today, take the other half of the pill tomorrow, and continue the rest of the month as normal. Check the directions cause normally, the 5 pills that are a different color (for when she's menstruating) are placebos.
I'd use protection as well if you're that worked up about it. Spermicidal lubricant or something like that.

you're getting mixed messages from all these people that think they know the answer and don't.
none of us can answer it because there are all kinds of things to taking into consideration, like where in the cycle is the missed pill, what kind of pill is she taking, have any others been missed, and MEDICAL HISTORY.
have her call her doctors office and talk to them. they are the only ones that know for sure if she's going to be okay, or if you need to use some other form of birth control and for how long.

With every missed pill, the possiblity of pregnancy increases; what she should have done when she lost the pill was throw out the pack and continue taking her pills from a new pack. Use a condom until she starts a new pack (after her period).

If you miss 1 birth control pill you are supposed to either take it when you remember or when you take your pill for the next day whichever comes first.

Sheesh, haven't taken those in ages. I think your wife can call the doctor's office and explain what happened. They will give her the answers on what to do. I think there are instructions given with the pills, or have they changed since my time?
If you are concerned on getting her pregnant, use some other contreceptive just in case. Otherwise, wait until she speaks to her doctor or nurse.

I think she only takes the one and not two. Two will not change anything anyways. Just continue on with her regular dosage and time now. You may also want to ask her doctor about this.
