I'm a freshman in high school and we recently started a creative writing unit and we get to pick our own topics but i'm having trouble thinking of an interesting topic. I want to do a fictional narrative something kind of dramatic with a lot of twists but nothing too predicatable or crazy. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

You could base it on something that's going on in your own community right now or something that happened in the past. For example, The Outsiders was based on real tension between social groups in Oklahoma.

If you have a relative who has lived an interesting life, you could write about him or her in a fictional way--maybe someone is a war hero or did something amazing. That could be a good story to work with.

Something dramatic with a lot of twists?? Ever watch a soap opera?? Base it off of something like that. Murder, suspense, mystery would be very awesome!!!
