I dropped one of mine down the sink once...called the dr, they told me to take the next pill in the pack and just continue on through the pack and my period would start a day earlier. Since she missed hers last night, she should take two today. YOu might want to use another form of protection for 1-2 weeks but i wouldn't be too worried.
Definitely don't throw the pack away. That's just silly.
Her period will start a day early, then she should start the next pack on the Sunday start (or whatever her normal pack start day it) just like normal.

She should ask a doctor. She may have to throw the rest away. Usually when you forget one they say to take both the next day (Some say just keep taking them one at a time) but she lost it so she may have to throw out the pack and start over. She is always going to be one short so it could affect her cycle. You guys should wear condoms during this time
***I think she can replace it from another pack of pills though. Make sure it is from the same slot on the the pill pack. She would just have to get an extra pack from the DOC

What if I lose a pill?
If a pill is lost, you should replace it from a separate pack of pills. Call Health Services if this happens. Advice may vary depending on where you are in your pack and what type of pill you are on

# In general:
* If you miss one dose, take it as soon as you remember or take two pills at the time of your next regularly scheduled dose. There is little likelihood that ovulation will occur. You may, however, want to use a second method of birth control such as a condom or a spermicidal cream, jelly, or foam for at least seven consecutive days following the missed tablet to ensure protection from pregnancy.
* If you miss two tablets in a row, take the two missed tablets as soon as you remember or with your next regularly scheduled dose (three total). Or, you may take two tablets each for the next two regularly scheduled doses (one missed tablet plus one regularly scheduled tablet for 2 days in a row). Chances are much greater that you may ovulate so you must use another form of birth control for at least 7 days following the missed tablets. It is even better to use a second method of birth control until your next period.
* If you miss three tablets in a row, throw away the package and start a new package on the 7th day after the last day you took a pill. Use another method of birth control until you have taken a pill for 7 days in a row. Your period should occur during the 7 days without pills. If it doesn't, have a pregnancy test before beginning a new package of pills.
# Read all of the information in your package information insert. It may have slightly different instructions in the case

Just take today's pill as usual. But also, use condoms with spermicidal lubricant for the rest of the month -- or until she gets her next period. Your chances of getting pregnant on the pill after you miss a dose are much much higher! Better to be safe than sorry.

She only needs to take her pill today. Do not double the pills, cause she could have a reaction if doubled. She might start her period a day earlier or a day later as a result, make sure you are having protected sex tho.

Just let her take todays pill but that means that the two of you cant have sex for at least a month so she doesnt conceive a baby when you guys arent ready. Thats what my doctor told me if i either A. dropped a pill and lost it or B. forgot to take it. Good Luck!

Don't worry. Tell her to take her pills as usual. like she hasn't lost that particular one.
From now until the end of her pill package use a preservative if you do not want surprises.
When her cycle arrives..you can go back a take them as usual. But don't forget to use more protection when you miss a pill.Don't worry. She will be fine.Next time you vacuum your car and see it...you will have a good laugh!
