I know many men who feel the same way. Even though I am a woman, I disagree with the divorce courts. It is absolutely ridiculous that men are seen as so untrustworthy. For some reason, many women accuse men of things and get away with it. Men always seem to get screwed over, even if they have done nothing wrong. It probably is because of the fact that women are weaker and more subject to abuse...and because of the whole "women's rights" thing. You know that a woman is just going to use that to her advantage. This is a sick society.

Oh boo hoo. Thats a bunch of hype. The courts dont always pick the woman. Its the judge who is the deciding factor. If you have an equally unbiased judge, then there isnt a problem.
You men think u r automatically gonna get screwed. Let me tell ya, u have every right to ask for whatever u want. Most of you put on the "i'm the victim" bologna and its u who seals your own fate.
Its pretty pathetic actually.
You can fight for the same as we can.
You just dont. So suck it up and stop your whining.

I'm not a guy, but I do have an answer.
The courts do not always side with the woman. I was totally screwed over by my ex, a male judge and the male attorneys who handled the thing. He got everything including child support by lying through his teeth with that forked tongue of his.
Looking back I would have to say that the person with the most time and money will probably come out on top. It's not a cut and dry case of female vs male anymore.

Because the laws governing divorce in most states today, are the same laws that governed divorces over 60 years ago before womens liberation, before the divorce rate skyrocketed, and before it was possible for a woman to make more money than a man. The laws were put in place to protect the "weaker" party in the marriage. Unfortunately, as women have progressed in their capabilities as providers, and often times are capable of making a better living than the men, divorce laws have stayed the same as they were.
There is hope though...I have a co-worker that went through a divorce recently and he (yes I said HE) not only got custody of the children, but was awarded child support, AND ALIMONY.
I say to you now. There is a God.

Believe this or not this whole conundrum you refer to stems back to the little house on the prairie times. during the civil war mothers were at home taking care of the kids, many men never came home. These women were highly praised for their carrying on without their men and considered pillars in the community. To this day women still hold very similar regards in the courts.
During my divorce the judge told me the woman was the better fit parent to offer growth and guidance to a smaller child where a father being a working stiff was gone the majority of the day.
I asked the judge where did he get this psychotic notion of discrimination? He fined me $50.00 in contempt of court.

It is not good to have a penis when you go into court. Men get a raw deal because of past domestic violence and D.V. laws. A lady can tell many stories that are out right un-truths and the courts would side with her.
This is part of the new cruelty toward men. Just think men are doing to men. When will we ever learn?

It's not just divorce courts....
Look at how people are treating astro-chick. If she were a man he'd be called a psycho stalker and be locked up, not sent for psychological evaluation and treated like a victim.
Women are more easily cast as victims. We have a hard time getting our heads around the idea that women can be evil, abusive, horrible people too.

The only way to understand the court system is to realize that they are in the business of protecting women and the image of motherhood.
Men and unfortunately children take a back seat.
