If this is your general personality and way of being, be glad he is still there lady. I bet if he called you stupid, you and half the women on here would scream emotional abuse.
You sound as though you are just another typical woman. Lady, no you arent a princess, you dont deserve all you wanted, wished for, expected or thought was your right.
Has it ever dawned on you that maybe they are more satisfying, fulfilling, interesting then you are? Probably hadnt thought that had you?
Was this behavior on his part shown to you before marriage? If so, where is your gripe? You were warned so shut up.
You know, maybe you should pay some attention and give some thought to the good things he does, the man he is and then try to understand why he is how he is. Yeah, I know, too much trouble and so forth, right?
Remember, a woman is generally never happy or satisfied for more then a few moments. Maybe your husband has figured this out and sees that no matter what he does, he cant win. So he just worries about making him happy, because it is impossible to make a woman happy for more then an hour, no matter what you do or say.
Go look in the mirror and take the blinders off. Maybe you arent the catch or princess you think or say yourself to be toots.

If this what makes him happy and relaxed, then I don't see any problem, especially coming home from a long day of work with seeing the same stuff each day, no problem at all.
The only thing that you can make it different is try doing something for him like giving him a shoulder and neck rub or shower together, something where he can put his eyes on you. But that is up to you to do. He just wants to feel relaxed. I'm sure you had those days too. Plus, MASH is a funny show! Pull up a chair and make some popcorn and watch it with him, just hold his hand even.
Could be that he wants the attention that you don't give to him, so he watches the TV for shows that make him laugh.

It could be so much worse, lady.
Who is stupider, the man coming home from work and sleeping on a couch and then watching wood working shows or better yet MASH re runs,
or the woman who married him?

What do I think of his stupid wife complaining to me over the internet instead of being a real woman and taking some responsibility in her marriage?
You did marry him, and I'm sure he was just as drab before you said "I do." Now you want him to be a different person than he is, and you're frustrated because he resists your attempts to strip away his individuality.
You, lady, are a fraud. You entered a marriage under fraudulent conditions promising love and whatnot when what you really wanted was someone else who vaguely resembled the guy you married, but catered to your every sick whim.
Do you work? Is he not providing for you? Is he cheating? Does he beat you? Is he throwing ultimatums and browbeating you into submission? I bet he isn't even pressuring you for the sex I'm fairly certain you aren't giving him. You could have done alot worse.
I'm sure he has other interests, but I bet you don't care or couldn't be bothered to note them. He may very well be tired from his work because I bet if he did a job that wasn't tiring he would be making enough money for you to not complain so much.
Why don't you do him and yourself a favor and get to know your husband, because I bet you don't. I bet you hardly ever tell him anything without a sneer of resentment.

I guess with my three college degrees that must make me pretty stupid, too. I enjoy woodworking shows and MASH re-runs.
I'd be more concerned about the amount of sleep he is getting at night. Is he depressed because he doesn't like his job and that's why he's falling asleep on the couch? Is he getting enough of the right foods to eat or is his energy drained by the time he comes home so he can't help falling asleep?
Or is he falling asleep in self defense because you nag the heck out of him?
Lighten up.

hmmmmmmm, so a guy going to work is lame huh?
geee, lets see, he doesn't drink and doesn't do drugs, at least not that you mentioned
so a guy going to work to support his family is lame huh?
maybe you should leave him, yea, thats it, leave him and find a guy that doesn't work and drinks all the time and does drugs, then you could have some excitement
at least your man is on the couch watching tv, could be worse, could be he is out somewhere with another woman and you don't know where
be happy with what you got, and if you ain't happy then change the situation, improve it, take matters into your own hands and make things more exciting

Is that like the kettle calling the pot black??? Seems two people lost communication somewhere. And it takes two to start a fight. Are you looking like you just woke up, when he comes home? Was there a time when he wanted sex and you said later, now now, or the infamous. "Is that all you think about!!" Seems like your sex life is low. And did you gain some weight thinking, I will lose it next month or are you in denial thinking that since he does not say anything that it is ok. Men do not like to tell their wife, "You look like a pig." They just come home and watch TV the next best thing.

He is not stupid and you should not be talking bad about him to us. If you have a problem with him you really need to talk to him about this and how you feel. He likes to watch tv and relax when he gets home and this is just his way of unwinding. Why dont you sit next to him and cuddle and watch tv with him. Be supportive of him since he works hard every day. Love and respect him for what he does .

I think zether hit the nail on the head. M*A*S*H is great. You? Not so much! Do you have a job? If not, try getting one and see what you feel like doing after working all day.
