Ok. I need to know if this is my period b/c Feb. 9, I noticed a about an inch of brown sticky,mucusy stuff in my panties and the next day i had about 2 inches of it and now today I have had back cramps and about 1/2 to 1 spoonful of that brown stuff. And when I wipe it is mucusy. Is that my first period????? Or is it showing i am fixing to get my period.

Yes, you are starting your period. Sometimes your first period will be just that brown discharge, you may not have a heavy red flow for many months. It just depends, every woman is different. But yes, the brown discharge is a sign that you're starting your period.

Yes, that is probably your first period. That was my experience as well. Make sure you tell your mom or another trusted adult woman that can explain to you what you need to do now during your monthly period and to answer any other questions you may have. Do not go to your friends, sometimes young people get the information wrong. A school nurse or counselor may be a good person to go to, if you don't feel comfortable going to your mom.

This is old blood that leaves your body. If this is your first period yes it may look like this for many periods until you get older.

Its starts like that with backache, or lower groin aches. first ones can be mild then second one comes on for anything from 3 to 5 days. Remember to keep extra cleanliness when going through this stage of month. .
