I have got something pierced but it is LOT more personal than my ear. It was less painful that you would think. I think I would make a great spouse.

FALSE-ear piercings dont even hurt and since when did physical pain have to do with marriage? its not like theyre getting beat on the head by their wives the minute they say i do...and what did they pay for that earring? $10? Maybe a lil more if they wanted something flashy and just because they bought 1 earring doesn't mean they have excellent taste in picking out an engagement rings or beautiful necklaces...so i think that theory is far from truth

You must have been to Las Vegas recently ... I saw this quote on a poster for Rita Rudner's show. The other quote was: "I love being married. It's so great to find that one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life."

As far as it's being true, yes and no. Yes in the sense that marriage is not a smoothly sailed course and that yes, eventually you will have to buy your spouse jewelry. No because the whole picture of the man (personality, temperament, life goals, etc.) have to be considered in order to say whether or not he's better prepared for marriage than his peers.

Maybe it means men with a pierced ear are more broad minded. Hubby is always buying me jewelry so that can't be the answer. Lol. Poppy

If this were meant to be a joke, or tongue-in-cheek, then why is in in "Trivia" and not "Jokes and Riddles?"

Edit - something "tongue-in-cheek" is by definition a joke/riddle/game. Just admit you put this into the wrong category.

LOL. That's a good question. Unfortunately, it is not true at all. It takes a bit more than buying jewelery and physical pain to be a prepared male for marriage! But its a good start!

nope - not in my experience. the last guy i dated had a pierced ear, and i have never met anyone who had such a huge problem with commitment as he did. as for buying jewellery, he's the guy who left me standing the the jeweller's shop looking like a complete idiot. we were supposed to be getting engaged, but when it came to him paying the shop assistant for the ring, he'd vanished !!!

That's just utter rubbish. Ive had peircings and things. Doesnt mean im ready for marriage. Just depends if i meet the right person...

Ummmm no. Physical pain has nothing to do with preparation of marriage. I think you knew that already.
