I worked at a card store/camera shop. As far as teenage jobs go, it was pretty good. The store wasn't open on Sundays, it closed at 5:00 on Saturdays, it was clean, it was safe, and I learned a lot about a field I knew nothing about previously (photography). All in all, a great first job. However, the pay was horrible!

My first job ever was working in my Mom's real estate office answering phones and doing some filing work. They needed a fill-in for a few weeks and I needed a little extra cash. This turned into me temping as a receptionist/secretary all through my college summers. The work was pretty easy and I was a bit bored...but I liked meeting all the people and liked getting paid :)
My first "real" job (meaning, I was no longer in school and didn't have to quit to go back to school) was as an engineer at a plant in central PA. It was my dream job...working as a process engineer in a plant making products. Loved it!

I was 15 washing dishes and dipping ice cream cones at an ice cream parlor. I was working to make money for college. Though this was not what I wanted to do forever, this job was great as it taught me to deal with other people.
I fully encourage teenagers to get any job like this. Many I talk to are "too good" to do a job like this and they end up not doing anything but leaching off their parents for spending money.

Document Control person. I worked for SAIC in Virginia. I had to keep track of the Document for a contract we were working on in Saudi Arabia. Yes I liked it.
