Try AVG. the free download works and is great if you are not worried about seeing the virus library details.

I think Avg is awesome. It updates it's anti virus definition files everyday which helps keep the health of your pc to a max.

Defintely AVG. It's free and it's reliable. McAfee misses a few and even happily lets in trojans. (Well it did on my PC)

Also get Adaware as it gets rid of lots of unwanted trackers.

if you just want to scan and remove without a program I reccomend you go to www.trendmicro.com and use their free scan. It works great. Otherwise Avast is a great free antivirus program.
