Anybody used both and noticed a difference? I know people will say "it all depends on the model", but I mean more in general of a certain brand failing, or just plain looking bad when installed. Thanks!

Ati and Nvidia are both good. But when buying a card you need to know what subcompany is making that particular card. the sub maunfacters make small differences in every card that ati and nvidia make. So an Nvidia fx5200 from pny would be different from an fx5200 from bfg. also different types of cards seem to work better with certain processor based machines. Nvidia seems to work better on Intel machines and Sti seems to work better on AMd machines. So those are things to think about. hope this helped.

There really is no major difference, except that nvidia is a cheaper easier to afford graphics card. They are basicly equal.
The only reason ati is more expensive is because it is made by amd
if you have an amd processor, ati is for you ati and amd walk hand in hand and will help you get the most out of your system

if you have an intel it might be good to get an intel card, but nvidia is better nvidia is the best for low budget systems that are running a lower processor

say you have an intel core duo extreme, this is one of those cases where you will want to get the ati
faster processors need a fast graphics card. If its an old computer your tuning up, get nvidia. New computer? Gaming computer? Ati is the choice

i hope this helps you out

ATI is better for low-end gaming and office cards, while nVidia is better for high-end gameing. After all, nVidia is the only one with the DirectX 10 video cards. (as of this writing) I have an ATI Radeon 9600XT running right now, and it is okay. Not the best, but at 14 you dont have $1500 to dish out on a new gaming computer. I prefer nVidia but that's just me.

Both are just about equal. I prefer Nvidia over ATI, but I would definitely buy either. Its not Nvidia or ATI but the sub manufactures like for example BFG, or powercolor that you should base your purchase off of, as these companies all have slightly differnet warranties and such.

Well, you're asking a question that is strictly subjective, so you'll get subjective answers.

I've been an nVidia fan. Haven't failed me yet. I buy eVGA cards. Great company. As for looks, well....

You could always paint them with fluorescent dye and install a blacklight, then color doesn't matter so much. I'm sure you could find a couple of mods in the Hard[OCP] forums like that.

Look at this way....
Xbox 360 is powered by ATI
PS3 is powered by nVidia
If you have seen the PS3, then you know that the PS3 has better graphics then the 360.
From my personal experince I have always like nVidia more, they also have better support in terms of updates and such... and they are more popular then ATI

My personal preference is Nvidia. The last 3 video cards I purchased were manufactured by eVGA Corporation. Their products come with a lifetime warranty and 24x7 technical support, the best support in the business. I have nothing but good things to say about eVGA video cards.

undecided if it relatively is largely a bragfest, yet yeah. it relatively is going to be superb. it's going to run HL2 way above 60 FPS. you will in all possibility have the skill to play Crysis on Gamer settings completely. And left for lifeless wont be a controversy the two. you ought to attempt CSS. sick chit.
