I wear smokey eyes to school all the time..
put a normal color all over your eyelids..stopping at the crease.
then in the corner of your eye and in the crease apply a darker color. I suggest buying mally beauty smokey eye city chick kit.
go to www.qvc.com and type that in and you can get it for a great price there!!

well i guess you could blend more of the lighter shade over the darker one... that way its not too dark.. but i dont think that would be a smokey eye look... well try it or try using other eye effects... lighter... unless you want to look good for school and impress someone.. do it once in a while to look different or for a special occasion.. which is what i do... everyone always admires my make up effects and skills... good luck!

Practice, practice, practice and then save this look for nighttime only. It's to harsh to wear to school.
