The problem with the west is that there are only two spots realistically available, spots 7 and 8.

1/2/3/4/5/6 are almost 100% locked unless the lakers have some insane collapse (which is possible due to their recent craptastic road trip losses).

right now seattle is about 6 games behind the 8th place spot. If they basically win everytime the 8th place team loses and doesn't lose when the 8th place team wins, then yeah they can make it.

likelihood of that happening? not very high

you have to remember when they had Rashard lewis their record was only 10wins and 16 losses.

so uh if that record keeps up they won't even have a chance in the East.

I would love to see them jump into the play-offs, but i think they have fallen too far to come back. The west is a very strong confernece and the Sonics division is also tought with Utah and Denver. Hopefull they will get a good draft choice besides taking a 7ft-er. If so, we may see the Sonics of two years ago return.

Go Seattle!

They can, but i dont think they will, they would probably finish 10th or so. With ray allen and lewis throughout the entire 82 games, they would have finished 7th or 8th.

if they were in the east, for sure. However, the west is so strong, it is going to be tough for anyone to make a run on phoenix or dallas.
