I am totally for gay marriages, the purpose of marriage is not to have children but its a promise before God of two individuals' love for eachother.
Plus, they cant conceive, but many married couples cant.
Many man-woman marriages have to adopt, and so do homosexual couples.

Try this for a topic, since it's a valid one. Only the duplicitous an deceitful would contradict it.
Do gay marriages threaten heterosexual marriage?
Points of discussion:
1. Do governments limit the number of marriage licenses granted in a year? (If the number were fixed, one could argue that gay marriages prevent straight marriages, but that is untrue.)
2. Since the number of licenses granted is unlimited, then how does gay marriage prevent heterosexuals from acquiring one? (The only argument for this is the number of employees and time available in a government office. But since the government would generate revenues from more licenses, they could hire more employees to perform the work, cancelling out the "problem".)
3. How do same sex couples endanger married couples in their homes? If two same sex people were NOT gay lovers, merely friends, and bought a house together, how would that prevent heterosexual couples from buying homes?
4. Given that 50% of all male-female marriages end in divorce, how can heterosexuals claim that gay people, who cannot get married, have any effect on the failed marriages of heterosexuals?
I'm sure you can think of others.

i am writing a paper on this topic write now, and i am against same sex marriages
try talking about whether homosexuality is genetic or enviornmental
and how homosexual parents affect a child
what makes a person homosexual
what is the purpose of marriage? to have kids right? so what is the point of a gay marriage then?
what are we supposed to do with homosexuals? i mean we dont hate the homosexuals, but if you are against it than you probably just have a problem with the having sex part
does this help?

The Constitution protects us from gvmt interference to form associations. Marriage is a very specific, special association between two people, so why does the gvmt prevent individuals from forming their own association?
The federal gvmt did not get involved in marriage until the early 1900's when income tax was passed, and more so when Social Security became law.
If we had the flat tax, private SS accounts, and no inheritance tax, define marriage? I don't think so. A bigger gvmt intrudes on our lives.
So why do we need the federal gvmt? For wills? These are contracts we should have for ourselves. I doubt that any politician could do as good as a job as you can.
There is no reason to get the gvmt involved is individuals relationships. Get the gvmt out of the marriage business!

So, do you have an opinion? You could go into the social implications not only for the couple involved, but for current or future children (adoptive or surrogate, obviously). You could explore the social, religious taboos involved, the various state or national laws concerning this type of union, and of course, all the interesting sexual positions that the couple might explore.....well, you might want to leave that out. Use your imagination and stop bothering "yahoo questions" with your homework! hahaha

In CANADA it is legal.
gay marriage is legal here and in the netherlands and same sex unions. are legal in many other countries. You could research the countries that have legalized marriage or unions and you could also present points of view from countries that have not supported these measures put forth by the rest of the world.

Do some research on the subject and then do some free writing on the subject. (Writing anything and everything that pops into your head on the subject.) Then take a look at what you wrote. It should give you some ideas.

Just write "Same sex marriage is abomination because God says so". You might want to bring the bible with you and open it in Romans 1:26-32.
Oh I almost forgot NATURE says so too.
Oh did I say THEIR OWN CONSCIENCE says so too.
Wo Wo I'm not done yet. WHAT ABOUT SOCIETY?
