As you know I am a feminist, but I do not have a problem with rap music at all. I actually like it. I think artists should have the freedom of speech to say whatever they want. I like people that are gutsy enough to speak their mind and not give a care what others think like Eminem. I think some people take the words to seriously and try to make an issue out of it. To me it is more about the beat and the story; I look at it from a more artistic standpoint.

Honestly the songs i've heard mostly talk about loving strippers and going to or getting out of jail.I know it's a generalization but every time I am trying to find something on the radio,that's what I hear on the rap stations.

if you think rappers just complain about their lives and dont rap about anything else, its pretty obvious that you havent listened to much rap at all. in fact, i dont think any rapper has ever actually complained about his or her life... none of them rap to complain about how they grew up.

Nonetheless.. real rap music has meaning... look at Dave Chappelle's Block Party. It was the Woodstock of Hip-hop.

Probably both. Rap used to be cool in the early 80s when it first came out (SugarHill Gang, RunDMC, Kurtis Blow) but now it's just angry, misogynist, sexist and tasteless noise set to a beat. Hip Hop is dead indeed!

in any song you will listen to, lyrics follow two simple rules, Escaping from life and letting people out in the world know there story cuz eveyrone has a story...I personally write about my feelings its way of letting out stress...
