I take no company with separatists of any race. I go to college and refuse to seek any help from minority based affiliations. I think it is unfair and disrespectful, for reasons I really don't care to explain.... I hate racially biased programs. Its like telling me that I need help because I'm not good enough to make it in a "white man's world"

It got here approximately for valid sufficient reasons. As somebody who has a tendency to choose others via their deeds and their character, i think of a few black historic figures of notice did no longer get their due. Bass Reeves, Jim Beckwith, John Noland and quite some others are very interesting black men from American history. of course there became comparable selective historic revision occurring and that made black history month inevitable. With that reported, what black history month has grew to become into is in simple terms what Booker T. Washington maligned.."the perpetuation of the grievances of black human beings." So that's a mixed bag.

I agree that is not fair and causes separation to have a month just for black people. There is no dedicated month for Asian and South Asian people even though they were taken as slave labour workers as well. Black people were not the only ones who suffered. You never see anything in the media about how Asian people suffered but you always hear about how black people suffered- how is that equality?

The reason there is a black history month and other black-oriented organizations is to help the black community as a whole succeed. It is countering the racism that blacks have endured for hundreds of years. I know it's difficult for many to understand, but Black History month wasn't invented to make white people feel bad. Get over yourself.

Because black people need to constantly reinforce the "helpless minority" role they play on a daily basis, to use is as a scapegoat when things don't go thier way.
