She has had all different kinds of veggies and fruits so now she is eating chicken and pears or chicken and apples is it ok for her to be eating meats at this age? She hasn't had any issues with eating it and she really likes it. So is it ok. I was reading on another question that i posted that people said that they can't have meat until 8 months. Thanks

my brother had a boy, and at 6 months.. he was a BIG boy.. and he was eating meats too.. i mean your the mom and if she likes it, and is having no problems eating it there is no harm in giving your lilttle one a lil meat! It sounds like your doing everything right!!

I know doctors and lactation consultants recommend only breastmilk for the first six months.
I introduced cereals sooner than six months. I didn't introduce veggies or fruits until around 6 months. It sounds to me like your child can handle it. I'm sure you would know if she was having a hard time chewing and swallowing.
Only you know your own child.
Congrats actually, my 2.5 year old still isn't a big fan of meat. Keep it up, :)
Good luck!

As long as the baby has gone through single ingred foods it is fine for the baby to have combination foods. AND meats are fine....you wouldn't be able to find those items in baby food if it was not safe. Babies can have meat in the second stages of foods.

It seems to be the custom now a days that food is not given as early because babies can develop so many allergies to them. Meat should be the last thing given when their digestive systems are more developed.

La Leche League recommends meat as a first food. And you can feed whatever you want, but don't give too much breastmilk/formula should still be the primary source of nutrition.

Oh and no honey or corn syrup because of infant botulism, but you know that I am sure.

If she likes it and isn't having problems digesting it or with tummy aches then go for it. Keep away from honey and nuts though since they can cause problems. My little one had turkey (at thanksgiving) at 5 months old and she didn't have any problems with it. Just make sure you wait a few days between introducing new foods so you can determine if she does have problems with something.

your doc will probably say no, but you are the mom you do what your baby wants... I have 4 kids and i was feeding them at 2 months baby cereal if she likes it i believe its fine!! If she is not having any reaction then its fine....Mine were eating meat too..

Just keep doing what you are doing. If she is eating it and healthy and not having any issues keep feeding her. My daughter was eating all this stuff a 6 months too and she is fine.

One of my baby's first foods was white meat chicken. She mashed it up with her gums and two teeth.

My baby just basically grabs what she wants off my plate. You can give her "real people" food if you want, as long as it's soft enough and small enough for her to mash and swallow safely.
