Also why do parents think it is so call to name their child after celebrities???? i.e. paris, etc

I think people can't think of better names than celebrities names or else maybe they want the child to take after the celebrity. I know people who are named Karen, Tracy, Gary, Trevor, Donna. The other ones aren't bad either.
I think the worst names are the ones that are like the unusual names.

Mmmm interesting. All those names are pretty tragic, but you might be going a bit hard on a name like donna or karen. I don't know any Donna's or Karen's but I'm sure they're lovely people. Most Tracy's are bitches though, aren't they? Hehe! Bizarrely enough we were having a conversation about the name Clive the other day too and couldn't work out a name like that. Is it short for something? I think there were a number of Paris' born before THAT Paris came onto the social scene so those parents are probably cringing now. Any parents naming their daughters Paris NOW, though, have serious issues.

my name is TRACIE,i was'nt named after any celebrity, my parents just liked the name back then (im 37)...also my son is called JAYDON and the only other JADEN (spelt different) i have heard of is WILL SMITH & BRITNEY SPEARS children.. BUT my son is nearly 12 and theirs are well under this age so obviously i did not get it from them....there are a lot of celebrities out there usually with 2 lots of names (stage name & their own) so if we try to think of names that are not linked to a celebrity i think we would be thinking for a long time & our children would be reaching 18 with no name.

Because at the time it sounds cool and different and also some people really lack imagination, a friend of mine called her daughter mercedes so i guess only their brains can answer ur question

what's wrong with those names? Just because you don't like them doesn't mean that others don't. And I know lots of people with the names of Donna, Tracy, Karen, Darren, and Wayne and none of them have complaints about their name.

They name their children that because they want to it's as simple as that. There may be a family member or someone close to them that had those names you will never know. My fiances name is Gary and if my baby is a boy I may name him Gary also what's wrong with that? Just because you don't like them doesn't mean a thing to anyone else.

I think the names you have mentioned are quite old fashioned actually, except Jayden which is quite modern. What makes you think these are chavy?
I can think of much worse names that I would consider as "chavy".

It all comes down to personal preference - if you don't like the names you listed then don't name your kid them. However don't pick on the person who ends up naming their kid one of those names. My son is obsessed with the name Dwayne for some reason, I don't like it, but he swears when he has a kid (many years down the road) he will name him Dwayne. I just say whatever . . .

its personal preference you no some people like those names and not to mention half the people on yahoo answers probly have those names.
ya better watch out if every one liked the same names then wouldent the world be a very boring place.

I want to name one of my sons Randy Wayne, but that's cause its would be his grandpa's name. I don't know...some people have weird quirks about them. Like why would someone name their kid William if their last name is Williams?! That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Be a little more creative people!!!
