As a straight woman, I am all in favor of male homosexuality. I find it refreshing because male/female relationships often have awkward and imbalanced power dynamics, which I don't see happening as much in male/male relationships. Besides, from my point of view two guys together is way hotter than two women :-)

I find them both equal, but lesbianism is definitely more socially acceptable to the majority of people than male homosexual, particularly if it's made more palatable (i.e. feminine women, not butch women).

As near as I can tell, it's all media. When you get people away from how they think they're SUPPOSED to behave, you'll often see behavior that is very different from what you would expect. There just isn't any way to predict how a "general group of people" is going to react to any given sexual situation, because from a sexual standpoint, everybody has their own individual likes and dislikes.

Because men dominate most everything it is a no brainer why it is more accepted. You were taught it was not right and there for you have a stigma against it.
Also you are missing the whole concept of the movie. you are not seeing the forrest for the trees.

I don't think the question is which is more 'socially acceptable'. Come on, guy... these are people's lives you are talking about here. You are asking for a justification for your own discomfort. We all have things that make us uncomfortable... just remember that your discomfort is about YOU.

Well, for me at least most of the satisfaction of sex is seeing my wife horny and enjoying herself. When two women are going at it, you have twice the horny and enjoyment. (Assuming you believe it.)
I don't even like watching guys having sex with women. I simply have no interest in seeing a horny guy enjoying himself.
