I just thought that was the worst thing I had ever heard. How would a state with 3 million people only have one abortion clinic???? It seems so unfair not to have abortion clinics accessable to all women!

Mississippi has the highest infant mortality rate in the nation and the highest teen birthrate. Oh but the good news is If a minor in the state of Mississippi is impregnated by her father, she needs only the consent of her mother to have an abortion!!

It was true there was only one legal abortion clinic in Mississippi a little over a year ago. I am not sure if that has changed since then.
For more on the how and why that is true, see the source.
FWIW, when I was young Roe v. Wade had not passed but abortions were still available. The wealthy went out of the country. The poor went to someone with a coat hanger.

As far as I know, that is still true. What is unfair, however, is not there is only one, but that there is one at all. Do you honestly believe it is "fair" to execute innocent human beings without their consent? What you're saying is that you believe all women should be able to quickly, easily, and conveniently slaughter their own sons and daughters.
Are you aware that an unborn child's heart begins beating just three weeks after conception, before most women know they are pregnant? By the time the average abortion is committed (at 10 weeks), the child also has recordable brain waves, tiny fingers, and all her organs. If her palm is pricked, she will open her mouth and pull her hand away. Take a look at exactly what "choice" you are talking about, okay?

Mississippi is a very conservative state. People who need help must travel to another state to get the help they need. Abortion is a very personal and often very painful choice which can be made more difficult by those who seek to impose their value systems on others.

Mississippi is a red state, they really don't need too many abortion clinics. People in red states tend to love their babies rather than despise them.

Maybe they don't want more. Maybe they don't need more. Maybe they need more, but don't have the doctors to staff more. Who knows?
