what happens if oil starts coming out of your car?

my mom was driving the car and then i noticed some drops of oil coming out of the back of the car, but there was no oil after my mom parked it....

Oil from the "back" of the car?
Seems kind of odd.....
Are you sure it's oil?
Could just be water condensation from the exhaust. (normal)
