I had a surgery exactly one month ago (I had a cyst in my ovary and had to have all the ovary removed by C-section) and have been very swollen in all my lower abdominal area ever since. How much longer will it take for my tummy to get back to normal? I look fat or at least 3 months pregnant LOL and I hate it :(

The whole ovary had to be removed because it had necrosis (it was black and unfunctutional, like dead); I will get the pathology results in a week to know exactly what caused this.

oh wow, i never heard of having to remove the whole ovary just because of a cyst. cysts are usually not harmuful. i had one, or at least my doc thinks i had one that ruptured. waiting for ultrasound to confirm. anyway, i would be curious to find out if u could add details about why the whole ovary had to be removed. like, what prompted the doctor to choose that course of action?

also, swelling should have gone down a bit in a month. i wouldnt worry. if it was swollen and u felt sick and especially if u had a fever then i would be worried about infection. how did your post-op go? im assuming the doctor has checked on you since the surgery.

OK first it wasn't a C-section that what they call it when you have a baby I know I had 2 and it's just a incision OK but the swelling will take a few week your insides are still healing I have a hysterectomy last march and it was may before my tummy was back to normal I'm sure your tummy will be fine in a few more weeks good luck

Usually a month. It's good to drink plenty of water... and stay on bed rest for atleast a week. It will also help the swelling.
