I saw an opening at restaraunt. I need some income to support my nondenominational ministry and self. Am 50 and since cannot get job teaching, need something. This seemed like a job I could do. It is just a regular small town restaraunt--not a chain. I would want to work part-time, so as not to keep from church activities.

All jobs have their requirements and most important items, and so I wondered about this. Wonder what would be expected.

Over twenty five years ago worked at a college dining hall. But it was not like real work. It was a private college, tiny income, more workers than needed--so the employers handled us very, very nicely.

Any thoughts, ideas, recommendations tremendously appreciated.

Washing dishes is not rocket science, but it can be very demanding. You should be organized, and be able to pay attention to detail. Some places I've worked were small, and if the dishwasher was slow or absent, it would throw the whole place into chaos.
Dishwashers are probably one of the most important, yet under appreciated people in a restaurant.

I agree with GoGirl817 but would add that most restaurants would require weekend work. This may conflict with your ministry requirements. Just something for you to keep in mind.

Good luck to you.

u don't need any experience for this but there is a possibility that you may be overexperienced. all you need to do is be fast and on top of things. you really don't have to deal with customers like a waitress would have to. also get waterproof shoes because water tends to splash on your feet.
