wait..why do Chivas only have mexican players?

i hear people talkin bad bout' chivas cause they only have players from mexico and they're always saying they're racist and stuff but wuts the real reason they only got mexican players? and for your info soy ::CHIVA DE CORAZON::

El Club Deportivo Guadalajara nace el 8 de mayo de 1906, un grupo de amigos se reunieron en uno de los almacenes más importantes de la perla de occidente, los empleados formaron un equipo de fútbol con el patrocinio de los popietarios de la tienda; encabezados por el belga Edgar Everaert, nacido en la ciudad de Brujas, sé conjuntaron mexicanos, belgas y franceses. Lo llamaron "Club Unión" y dos años más tarde "Club Guadalajara"

El origen del apodo se remonta a la temporada 1948 - 49, un jueves 30 de septiembre de 1948 en el parque Oro de Guadalajara, se jugaba la jornada dos entre Chivas y Tampico. La crónica de ese partido se público en la página siete con este encabezado a ocho columnas: Jugaron a las carreras y ganaron las "Chivas" uno a cero. Ese fue el título que se le ocurrió al jefe de la plana deportiva, Reinaldo Martín del Campo, alias "Anotador" apoyado en que el partido había sido muy malo y en que algunos fanáticos con el sello rojinegro, se mofaban de los rojiblancos gritando que "parecían chivas brinconas". El encargado de escribir la crónica fue Manuel Gómez Gutiérrez "Magog".

El 21 de octubre de 1943 hace su debut en el fútbol profesional venciendo 4 goles a 1 al Atlante en la capital de la república desde sus inicios, las Chivas decidieron implementar la política de solo contar con jugadores mexicanos en sus filas y hoy día es el equipo más querido en México, con más afición y títulos en el territorio nacional. Es, sin duda, el equipo más importante de México.

When Club Deportivo Guadalajara was founded 100 years ago, the founders made an oath to not let play any foreign players in Chivas. It became a tradition and Chivas is now recognized internationally as a 100% Mexican team.

Another reason is so they can represent Mexico in foreign grounds (Libertadores Cup), and to prove to the world (especially Argentinians & Brazillians) that Mexico has the same level of soccer professionalism as any other club, even from Europe.

PS. If you are a Chiva fan, you should know this by now! otherwise you are not a real fan.

It is simply a tradition, the team started in Guadalajara(obviously) with only Mexican footballers. Other teams started the same way but when some of the teams decided to bring talent from the outside of Mexico, Chivas decided to play only with Mexican born players. It became a tradition that stands to this day.

Yes he can play for Chivas!! Gringo Padilla was born in California and he is playing with Chivas. I think there was 4 or 5 players that were not born in Mexico but have played for Chivas in the past. I saw it on Futbol Picante, Diario Fox Sports, Cara a Cara on DFS. Gringo is a Mexican born in the US and so is Edgar Castillo.

I no nothing much about chivas, but there is a lot to be said for bringing on players from the grass roots.England will never win the world cup while there are too many foreign players in the premiership and England players spending too much time on the substitutes bench.

first of all if you were really "Chivas de corazon" you would've known since the day you learned how to read...but anyways...its not racist at all and this is the first time i ever hear this comment....its basically just a tradition and thats it....nothing more.....and especially nothing racist.....thats funny.....
