You can go down Leith walk to the water world, or Leith Docks and see the QE2, go up Holy rood Palace, Go up Arthur's Seat(that's the extinct volcano), go to the zoo, walk the Royal Mile, Go to the castle. Personally though i would go on the pis, it's much better fun.

Edinburgh is the best city in the world for just strolling around admiring the beauty of the place. I'd especially recommend the Water of Leith Walk Way from the Natinal Gallery of Modern Art (go round the back and down the stairs turning left once you're over the bridge) to Stockbridge where you can stop for coffee then up through the new town back to the city centre. Arthur's Seat has stunning views over the whole area too.

Go one one of those Ghost Walks. Or the underground vaults, can't remember what they're actually called but there's starting points dotted around along the Edinburgh Mile.
Just keep your eyes out for the sign, they've got the times & prices on.
Hope you have a great time!

This is for Thomas G: Yes, go to Glasgow, take a dump in the middle of Sauchiehall Street (nobody will notice), then come back to Edinburgh, look around at all the beauty and thank your lucky stars that you don't have to live in Glasgow full time.

Long walks-'Arthurs Seat' is a huge, extinct volcano virtually in the middle of the city. It takes a while to climb it, and it can be pretty scary if you are not so keen on heights!
Day trips to the surrounding countryside can be amazing too. Edinburgh is beautiful, hope you have fun!
