We are forced to produce profitable products under this capitalist system. Depending on the job you have, you'll have a certain type of life. This creates wealth but only through exploitation. Should we continue to accept a capitalist system? I think its killing humanity and the world's natural resources. What do you think?

Society? Perhaps.
Government? No.

The challenge with true socialism is that, for it to truly work, power must be in the hands of society as a whole. The moment society abdicates responsibility to the state, the system becomes prone to corruption, inequity and inefficiency.

To work, socialism requires a high level of dedication and sacrifice from each individual. It also requires uniformity of purpose and thought. This goes directly against our tradition of free will and individualism.

Of course not. In a socialist society there is little or no social mobility. The list of richest people stays the same every year in placeslike France or the UK. In countries that have a more severe form of socialisim the only thing that is shared is misery. Your world view is somewhat twisted if you think that wealth is created by exploitation. Wealth is created by providing a large number of people with a product or service wanted or needed by those masses. Mr Gates exploited no one when he created windows. Salk exploited no one with his polio cure. The term exploitation is Marxist retoric designed to denigrate the successes of capitalizim. While it is true that the capitalist system is not fair to all, it is also true that a person cannot be free in a fair society. The fact that there are numerous bumbs hobos and other street people lays to rest your claim that we are forced to produce profitable products. We are not forced to have a job in the US that situation was forced upon people in the old workers paridise of the USSR where being unemplyed was a crime. You can easily have your wish and reject capitalisim by finding a way into Cuba but I bet you won't

Look at Venezuela as a case study.

In the span of 5 years products have increased in price 40% or more and food shortages are rampant.

Socialism can not point to a successful system in operation.

Cuba?
Russia?

Like many say: "Capitalism isn't the only system, but it's the best."

"We are forced to produce profitable products...."

But the consumers decide what is profitable.

"Depending upon the job you have, you'll have a certain type of life..."

Actually most people improve their incomes and lifestyles as they get older - you're free to take night courses like I did and hasten this process along.

All capitalism means is freedom. It's not a matter of whether "we" will "accept" it but whether you will try to impose something else upon the rest of us.

Socialism is a great THEORY, but when you take into account that humans are basically lazy, you will realize that it doesn't work. Look at the abuse of our social welfare programs and you will see generations of families on welfare with no desire to get off. Capitalism provides a reward system based on output, and it is the most fair.

I think you're wrong.

Check the record of the USSR and the communist block if you want to know about "killing humanity the world's natural resources".

A capitalist society is one the place the loose marketplace sustains the economic device and provides for the human beings, directing scarce factors in accordance to grant and demand. A socialist society is one the place the marketplace nonetheless performs a place, yet is heavily regulated and subsidized via the government. the government thinks that's huge-unfold with the thank you to distribute scarce factors greater effective than the marketplace, and so seeks to administration factors of the marketplace to realize this. the final ideal in the back of socialism is that the government will look when you and carry your hand and verify anyone play's honest, whether it expenditures trillions of human beings's money, the place capitalism makes it possible for danger and opposition tocontinual success, and blunders and irresponsible/rash judgements have convey approximately failure, with ideal and organic effects. opposition and the call for for factors exams ambition. whilst a organization does some thing human beings do unlike, your employer could be taken someplace else, via fact the loose marketplace enables anyone to fill a area of interest/fulfill a want and compete with different agencies. although, whilst the government steps in and starts off shoveling on legislations, it makes it impossible for brand spanking new gamers to go into and wisely compete, and it starts off a unfavorable feedback loop that somewhat in simple terms rolls downhill till you hit socialism. genuine capitalism works. Socialism is beautiful via fact the human beings who are not useful in a capitalistic society do no longer think of its honest that somebody else could have greater suitable than them. they elect anyone interior the comparable boat, wearing the comparable outfits, eating the comparable nutrition, driving the comparable motor vehicle; via fact, God forbid, somebody else seem a sprint happier than you via fact they took a danger, utilized their own innovation and capitalized on their skills. So, think of roughly it. might you somewhat have significant surgical technique from a physician who labored his *** off in med-college to make over 100k, pulling long hours and neglecting his relatives for occupation, or the wellbeing care expert who dawdled via a curriculum that wasn't too annoying via fact the college did no longer elect anyone to sense dumber than somebody else, and make's little greater suitable than somebody flipping burgers.

I dunno, Russia did well enough as a Communist State to assure that it wasn't just Capitalists killing the world. It's a human issue, not an idealogical one. We have to adapt our lives and lifestyles to the changing environment. If we don't, political philosophy will not save us from anything.
