"As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!!!"
-- Arthur Carlson, WKRP in Cincinnati

I always thought that the Turkey Drop episode was great. Arthur Carlson was my favorite because at the end of the day he would bring some sense.

His mother always tried to belittle him. Even she got put in here place at times.

I remember another episode that was a favorite of mine in which he the religious right had came to the station to censure the music they played.

I remember response when he recited a song from John Lennon "Imagine" in which he read "Imagine there was no heaven and no religion too". The gentleman stated that was on his no play list and Arthur said" He said he just said imagine. We must keep freedom of thought. We will not bow down to this. He lost a few clients (this drove Herb nuts) but in the end I respected that.

This is why Arthur Carlson was my favorite. It would be easy to pick Johnny Fever or any of the other ones however this is my choice.

My favorite was "Herb."

I've worked in broadcasting for many years, and I've known people like Herb.

He was the smooth talking salesman with the crazy wardrobe who was very much the ladies man.

He put money above everything else, and was the ultimate "cool" guy (at least he thought so).

Of course the show had many great characters, and I think I've worked with people who were very much like Johnny, Venus, Les, The Big Guy and, of course, Jennifer!

As a matter of fact, Andy was probably the only normal one of the bunch.

I loved Johnny Fever and Andy. They were my favorites. That was a good show. Haven't thought about it in years. What a blast from the past.
