Like little corporate puppets, hey, they can't play, but they can kind of sing like a poser and do synchronized dance moves....pathetic.

even those who try to play an instrument don't have any damn talent. What the hell happen to the music industry.

I cringe to think kids today think this crap is good.....corporate tools.

Yes, everything you say is true of the corporate record industry and mainstream radio. However, there are still lots of local and underground artists who are with independent labels or who are self-released....and who don't suck like all the mindless brain-candy puked up by mainstream media. With the exception of listening to the baseball game on the radio while I drive, I haven't listened to mainstream radio in 12 years. There is tons of other good stuff to listen too without tuning into to commercial radio to hear their crappy, no talent, flavor-of-the-week "artists".

Like... Simple Plan is just... it expresses me... they're emo and stuff.

Yuck. Sometimes I wish that some modern band would release an album like Wish You Were Here... Welcome to the Machine and Have a Cigar describe today's music industry perfectly, as do Comfortably Numb.

Best concert I've ever seen was Lynyrd Skynyrd. Not saying much, since I've been to only two concerts that I can remember, but it was a lot better than some of the taped concerts that my friends make me watch.

There's some hope. I'm only fourteen. On the other hand, everyone makes fun of me because I think that Pink Floyd is better than Fiddy Cent and System of a Down and all of those other big names now.

Let them laugh.

If you see playing as only to play an instrument and you feel that way, well that is on you. There are many ways to make art, and I COMPLETELY disagree with the first person that answered. Rap does take alot of talent, I understand many mainstream artists have taken the art out of it, but when you see rap in it's purest form, it is poetry with flow coming from a dj or to any beats. I don't think you should generalize every artist out there to be like that. My dad is a musician, can play many instruments, sing and is very talented. It really just depends on the ears of the listener. For you or somebody else, rap may seem stupid, for me it isn't. For the first person that answered rock is true music, for me it is a bunch of people screaming but I know that just because that is what I think, it is not a fact. However, I think your question is going towards the "Hip-Hop" {trust me, that is not real HipHop} songs that have a certain dance to it such as Chicken Noodle Soup, Lean With It Rock With It, Shoulder Lean, which do seem pathetic to me and possibly to you too but to others it doesn't. It gets me mad because they consider that HipHop and it isn't, Hip-Hop is a culture based on art, soul, expression and is shown through MC's, DJ's, Breakdancers, and Graffiti artists. I believe the reason they are so popular is because it sticks, as much as you might think they are pathetic, you have to admit they stick to your head, and yes you are right about corporate tools but that is what sells, and you can only judge is as one listener not as all. Hopefully I helped in answering your question. :)

I agree.
I probably listen to stuff like that and don't realize it.
I don't know if any of the people in the bands I listen to have music talent, but I think they're good at writing songs and singing.
I like Taking Back Sunday, Bullet For My Valentine, the Pink Spiders, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Aiden, The Academy Is.., Cute Is What We Aim For, Three Days Grace,...
I can go on.
I don't know if you would consider them musically talented, but I like the noise they make.

You're silly.

I agree that popular music is in a very depressing state, especially for someone like me, but that's just the way it is (d)evolving in order to feed the ravenous public.

Some people can play instruments, but those who can aren't recognized, because that's not what people want right now. A few of those who can play choose to dance and sing like a monkey because that's what's going to get them paid, and while it's not the best way to earn a living, they're not complaining.

I agree. It's just coorporate now. Find a pretty face and have people right some dribble and some simple beats. The music scene, the grammys, it's all just a joke these days. Lameass popularity contest.
