I am currently attending one school in CO, but would like to also attend another nearby, and still complete both degree programs at the same time without having to transfer. Is it possible for me to be a freshman at one (yes, I can afford all Gen Eds again) and a senior at the other without problems?

It is not common -- but possible. Sometimes the universities will allow you to get a joint degree. A coworker of mine attended Dartmouth and Holy Cross at the same time.

The nephew of a friend of mine attended a HBCU in Atlanta. He was able to enter a program that gave him a joint degree from Georgia Tech.

There are also some combined grandaute programs. For example, Columbia University and UC-Berkeley have a combined weekend MBA program that gives participants an MBA from both institutions.

Sometimes it is common for a student to attend their primary institution and attend a community college in the same city. Each University has different rules regarding this and many times you must first get a waiver from the Dean of your college to do so. Don't try taking the classes without first getting the waiver because in the end your primary university might not take the credit without previous permission. However please know that dual enrollment might be something that your University has a strict policy against. Bottom line, check with your academic advisor or Dean before you dual enroll.

I tried that recently and it was OK as long as you can afford both schools. If you are getting financial aid, like me, you will have to pay cash for the other school (I found that out the hard way). It would be hard to go to two schools full time unless you don't have a life and don't have to work for a living, but then how will you pay for both schools?
