I think it is unlikely. When I visit conservative blogs, such as "hang right politics", I see no willingness to forgive Giuliani for his marital indiscretions or to "forgive" Romney for being a Mormon. His positions on both abortion and gay rights are widely criticized by the right wing Republicans. While many would vote for him over a Democrat, many others would not vote for President at all if Giuliani was the choice. Most Americans, I believe, vote on a candidate based on his/her position on issues of important to the individual voter. Both the extreme right and left wing is quite unforgiving and would not compromise for the good of the nation. Extremists lack the ability to admit a middle ground even exists and they will not forget mistakes made by a person in his/her personal life. While I don't approve of Obama's past drug use, at least he admitted it and it is both ancient history and completely transparent. I suppose, to be candid, I'm sure there are things I did in high school and college that are best forgotten (not that I ever did anything wrong that I'd admit on this site).

Anyone can be nominated, but I don't believe Giuliani will be the go to guy. OK, he was MAYOR of one of the largest cities to suffer a terrorist attack, and kept people together. I suppose the New Orleans Mayor could run for prez if he wasn't such a weasel and if he had pulled the people together rather than play the blame game. But when was the last time a prez was in office without a first lady? When was the last time a prez elect had recent bouts with cancer? There will be another candidate running for the republicans.

Conservative Republicans will naturally support a conservative, and Giuliani doesn't fit that description. If he is nominated, he'll have the support of most Repulicans.
I don't understand why so few are asking about Mitt Romney. He's the best qualified.of the bunch.

Absolutley. I'm one. I would vote for him. The party will unite behind the best candidate. He is definately in the mix.
Not that you asked, but I don't think McCain has a prayer.
