... cut her hair and was very disappointed when it didn't grow again although she was advertised as the doll whose hair grew?? Being a young child I believed that her hair really grew!!!

You may need to be in your 40's to remember this doll!!

Also the Sindy, Paul and Patch family??

I had a Tressy, but I have another one to replace the one I had a child. The hair grew on mine and, with a little work, still grows on the replacement. I'm not sure if the British Tressy was the same as the American version...and wasn't there a Tressy in the 70's who was a friend of Crissy's? The ones I had/have were made by American Character. I also have her friend Misty and her little sister Cricket.

You can see them here.

I had a Tressy doll, I loved it, You had a key to put in her back to shorten her hair and pushed her belly button to pull the hair long. I was gutted when I lost the key, till I found a small screwdriver to use instead. Also had Sindy and Pippa dolls. My daughter has got my pippa dolls cos I never parted with them.

Oh I loved my Tressy! I had a blondish one and my cousin had a brunette. I also had the Tressy that came with make-up that you could put on her face. We spent many hourse playing with Tressy also Tammy and Barbies. Those are some of my fondest childhood memories!

Yea I'll admit it, I had her, and still do along with 499 other dolls to keep her company! (I collect dolls). She's still just as pretty as she was back then,...at least in my eyes.
