denial of society creates conflict where you are very likely will be pronounced enemy or mentally retarded.you offering society fight , being against..society will fight with you if enemy, and fight for you to be return to society...both fights is direct damage to you...Being indifferent to society, means you leave all the judgment to them, allow them to be , but withdrawing yourself from its consciousness...that what it means "renounce the world" But it gives you an opportunity fully rely to yourself...Actually you 'll find yourself above of being for or being against... That one if you are not ready leaves you in duality indefinitely...till ready.

"of course if it does not break the societal norms"
Wait a minute why should we listen to society norms? Is it not society norms that create the borders you are speaking of? Isn't it society norms that create the rules you want to go beyond?

You need something bigger...something greater...than "society norms"
The only way for society to exist is to assume a universal standard that applies to all people. And it must be created by someone who has a "right" to make a standard.

screw the societal norms. if my objective happens to be illegal i'll find a way to subvert societal norms. if the societal norms offend me i'll ensure that my minority position is heard and followed.
