Because it was the time of the "Roaring Twenties." It was also the time when Henry Ford designed the Model T, which was very popular. Teenagers, during this time, could get away from their parents and spend more time with their friends or sweethearts.

they became mor rebellious in the 1920's because more people were wealthy so cars came about thanks to mr.ford which created new jobs in every department ,then we go mass culture (culture around the world) instead of having little town events we had radio could listen to music and get news quicker . then we had movies which still like today cause NEW fads (clothes, red lipstick, flagpole sitting ) and flappers wemon who at this time the rebellions the ones who dressed in a new way and started drinking , smoking , speaking their minds and living their lives for the day not what will happen tomorrow!!!!!!

The years immediately after World War I were very difficult times. Political upheavals from the wars, the Communist takeover of Russia, and civil wars, left most people feeling as if there was no hope for the future. Many had lost loved ones and the rebellion stemmed from this loss and lack of hope. Art even reflected this emptiness.

The society, in actuality, gave reason for it and even encouraged it. No different than at any other time in history. With the horrors of World War One, I think a kind of acceleration was brought into play.
