I have very dry skin that seems to flake whenever I put on all-over foundation. Is there one that will be good for my dry skin, not break the bank, and look somewhat natural?
Thanks to all answers!!

I like bare minerals - it's light and is good for all types of skin

BTW, I hate makeup!

I suffer from the same problem.
I use MAC Makeup products though.

But the key to applying any foundation, is using a moisturizer for you skin before hand! I use a moisturizer by MAC as well. And it works great! I even had my make-up done by them for my wedding, and it lasted all day through all the tears, and cold weather. (Got married in January of '06)

So I really hope this helped. You have to use a moisturizer before applying foundation. It also helps the powder foundation to stick and look really natural.

I've had the same issue and this is what helps me: In the shower, use a face pad when you wash your face to rub off dry skin. After showering, PAT your face dry and then immediately use a moisturizer - I use Dove. When you get ready to do your makeup, apply your foundation with a sponge and then brush on the powder with a big puff brush - Don't use a pad for powder.

I hope that helps!

Dry skin is a big thing. One of the problem is because we wash in chlorinated water everyday. Chlorine is a bleaching agent and it strips away the natural skin oil. All the cream and lotion we put on is not the same and it is a after application. I do have dry skin myself and I use shower filter. It really help is you case is same as mine. Use shower filter and also apply the cream to see it that works. I myself uses shower filter and finds it to work for me, but still I use cream.

If you add a small amount of moisturizer to your foundation it will help keep your foundation from looking dry and it make the foundation easier to blend in.
