I recently posted a question asking what the best sci-fi movie ever was/is. Battle Field Earth received 16 votes and was chosen best answer? I watched it and wanted to start John Travolta’s dreads on fire the whole time. I though better acting (on all actor’s parts) could have been extracted from a dead cow - Did I miss something? …or, as I suspect, are you all just playin’!

the friend who lent me the DVD warned me, but it beat all my expectations of lowliness. this film is unspeakably bad. don't go and see it, take my word for it:

* it has no plot.

* the 'actors' suck huge rocks. really huge.

* travolta doesn't even try.

* the most elaborate dialog revolves around the sentence 'grumble mumble'.

* special effects are the worst ever, because they pretend to be serious.

* costumes and characterization make space: 1999 look excellent

i could go on and on and on, but i'm beginning to feel sick just for having to think about it.

The only reason anyone liked that movie is beacause they were vulnerable to the the subliminal messages in it from the Church of Scientology.

Funny how the narrative of that movie kind of sounds like the doctrines of Scientology? That's because they were both written by L. Ron Hubbard.

what do you expect?
it was a movie based on the story by Mr Scientology, E. Ron Hubbard.
Crap left best unnoticed and alone.

I saw it and to be honest, I barely remember it, it was that bad. I think my memory won't let me remember such a train wreck.My boyfriend at the time was really into that book and he even thought it sucked big time.
