Parts of it sound like he is against the Iraq war ("they say we stand for nothing and there's no way we ever could" and "we just know that the fight ain't fair"). Then some parts sound like he is ok with it ("If we had the power to bring our neighbors home from war they would have never missed a Christmas...") Could he have done that on purpose so all of us would find things we like about it. Could he have done that to avoid political outcries from us?

Both are examples of his disagree with the war. When he says "If we had the power to bring our neighbors home from war they would have never missed a Christmas no more ribbons on the doors." he is disagring by saying if he had that power they would have been on for Christmas and not have been in the war.

hope that helps

He did say before playing an acoustic version of the song that the reason its called WAITING on the world to change is bc he doesnt feel like he or anyone else can do anything about it (we just feel like we don't have the means/ to rise above and beat it). It's because the rules keep changing. He said people wonder why there used to be so many change songs. He says the reason for that is peoples minds didnt used to be so defensive to new ideas.

His analogy was the Bush is like that kid up the street you used to play cops and robbers with. But everytime you shot him, he all of a sudden became bulletproof.

I think his song is to show people how the world is so bad and that we all should be good people. REspect our world. Things like that. He might mean things like to stop gangs. On the video,it has people spray painting walls. And that we all should be better people. Go to music.yahoo.com to look up the video.
