Answer to the second question -
Land heats up faster because it can absorb the warmth from the suns rays. Water evaporates, the hotter it is, the more it evaporates. Also alot of the warmth is reflected - ever heard of the sea being called glassy- there you go.

Answer the third question -
This isnt scientific but have you noticed that most island/maritime places that are surrounded by water are closer to the equator? The equator is the spot on the earth that gets the most sun the most days of the year, therefor the closer you get to it, the more temperate climates you get.

I'll try, but remember I'm an old man. College is a long time ago.
1. Other than the ozone layer, I'm not sure the higher latitudes do in fact receive less insulation. They receive less direct sunlight due to the tilt of the earth as relates to the sun, but the atmosphere is consistent all around the globe..
2. Water inherently heats and warms slower than land does. Not just the larger bodies of water, either. My swimming pool is quite a bit slower to heat and warm as relates to the concrete or ground around it. I'm not sure of the reason, vis-a-vis physics. I'd have to look that one up. It can't be density, as a rock is most certainly more dense than water. If you can't find out otherwise, e-mail me and I'll dig into the matter for you.
3. The resistance of the water to temperature changes is the reason the land masses heat and cool faster than the maritime climates. The oceans act like huge heat batteries, storing the warmth.

1. ?
2. ?
3. in not so scientific terms... Because the effects of the water help keep the temperature stable. Like Hawaii stays around 80 degrees all year while Michigan averages 95 in the summer and 25 in the winter. It has something to do with the massive amounts of water.

Sorry I'm not much help, but it might lead you in the right direction.

Unit conversions seem a brilliant subject for faculty pupils. The safest replace into to do any unit conversion is to easily multiply your preliminary value via a million unil the contraptions are what you go with. i comprehend this sounds This replace into an basic unit conversion. seem at a complicated one to be sure the potential of multiplying via one. determine what proportion km in 2.7 mile. i do no longer comprehend the direct conversion, yet i comprehend: a million inch = 2.fifty 4 cm one hundred cm = a million m 1000 m = a million km 12 inch = a million foot 5280 foot = a million mile i will take any of the above equations and make the quantity one via dividing one area via the different ( a million = (2.fifty 4 cm)/(a million inch)). i visit take 2.7 mile and multiply via a million until all the contraptions yet km cancel: 2.7 mile = 2.7 mile x (5280 feet/a million mile) x (12 inch/a million foot) x (2.fifty 4 cm/a million inch) x (a million m/one hundred cm) x (a million km/1000 m) = 4.3452288 km circulate throughout the above intently to be sure its sparkling. as quickly as you get mushy with the considered mulitplying via a million and cancelling out the contraptions appropriate, you're able to do any unit conversion.
