Since the Least Common Multiple of 6 and 5 is 30, multiply both sides by 30. You should now get:
5x-6(x+3)=30
Follow Order of Operations.
5x-6x-18=30
Transpose.
5x-6x=48
Solve.
-x=48
Simplify.
x=-48
Substitute -48 into the original equation.
-48/6-(-48+3)/5=1
-8-(-45)/5=1
-8-(-9)=1
-8+9=1
Ta-da!

Since the LCM of 8 and 4 is 8, multiply both sides by 8.
(y-3)=6
Remove parentheses and transpose.
y=6+3
Solve.
y=9
Substitute 9 into the original equation.
(9-3)=6
6=6
Hooray!

x/6-(x+3)/5=1
take L.c.m on both sides
l.c.m. = 30
5x-6x-18=30
-x-48=0
x=-48

(y-3)/8= 3/4
cross multiply 8 and 4
4(y-3)= 3x8
4y-12=24
4y=36
y=9
Therefore x=-48 and y=9

x/6-((x+3)/5)=1
5x/30-6x/30-18/30=1
(-x-18)/30=1
(-x-18)=30
-1(-x-18)=30(-1)
x+18=-30
x=-48

(y-3)/8=3/4
y-3=6
y=9
