similarities between barack obama and abe lincoln?

They are both great speakers. They're both from Illinois. They both have had / do have to face the challenge of pulling this country together again. And potentially, they each inherited a horrendous and devastating mess from one of the two worst, most devisive and destructive Presidents in American history.
Lincoln cleaned up the mess that was left for him and became known as one of the greatest Presidents of all time. Given the enormity of the task, only history will tell us if Obama, or any candidate of either party, will be able to do the same.

Both were elected in illinois, nothing else.
Abe Lincoln didn't condone beheading and the stuff that islam condones.
