If it's a girl, it will be my first. I already have Jack, Leo, and Peter. I've always leaned toward old-fashioned names, but something about Avery is appealing to me. I wanted to go with Elizabeth and just use a different nickname than my own (I'm Beth) like Liza, but I'm not sure about giving her my same first name. Your thoughts? If you don't like Avery, please tell me why. Thanks!

In the book Charlotte's Web Charlotte's brother is name Avery so I would consider Avery a boys name. Why don't you name her Liza Avery (Avery could work as a girls middle name but not a first name) or Liza Beth. Good luck!

I love Avery and I love Elizabeth and they are okay together. Since you are naming her after yourself than I give it a thumbs up but if you were thinking of going with another name than something else may flow better.
Avery Elise is a beautiful name I think.
How about Elizabeth Avery and still calling her Avery?
Good Luck! Sd

I love it! Avery Elizabeth sounds perfect. I couldn't think of a better middle name for Avery. It is also pretty original, which is always important in a name, right?
Always remember, long names go perfectly with one-syllable last name.
You have excellent taste! Best of luck!

That is sooo crazy i have a 7 month old who's name is Avery Elizabeth, we always wanted a unique but simple name for our girls, and Avery was a name that we both agreed on. Elizabeth is my bf's grandmothers name, the middle names we have given for both our girls have been after family members. So yes, i love this name!

I like Elizabeth better. Averie doesn't have a meaning behind it and I like names with meaning.
Here's some of my favorites:
Anastasia, Amelia, Alexandra, Jessica, Victoria, Christiana or Christina(e) , Natalia(e), Juliana or Julienne, Daniella(e), Catherine(a), Isabelle(a), Elizabeth, Gabrielle (a), Abigail, Naomi, Evangeline(a), Rachel, Diana, Makayla or Mikayla, Sarah, Emma, Leah, Stephanie(a) They sound so feminine, strong & elegant names for girls that will become women one day.

i love Avery! it's modern and cute. I also like Elizabeth. I think it's ok for her to have the same name as you as well, as long as you give her a different nickname like you said. I have my mom's middle name and it's probably a tradition i will try to carry on... i think that kind of stuff is nice.
