It's pretty easy to tell a pregnant female guppy and most of them are right when you buy them. She will be pretty fat and have a dark spot on her belly. To help be sure you get healthy babies, feed her well on good foods, like a good flake food and frozen brine shrimp and keep her tank water nice and clean. A good environment and good food will almost always equal good healthy babies.

Best of luck with her!

ok. I do know know what wal-mart is...

To tell if the guppy is pregnant, look above its back end. If you see a dark-redish circle on at least one side of the fish, its probably pregnant. Also, it's belly should get puffier as the days go on.

Let her have the babies! Stopping a fish from birth can be risky and fatel. If you don't want the babies, sell them to a store or give them away.

A pregnant guppy looks fatter than normal and has a black crescent just in front of the tail, she will have to be separated from the babies or she will consume them. You can buy an inexpensive breeder at the pet store-but hurry!
Good luck!

Guppies give birth to live babies. if she is pregnant, buy a floating breeder box for her. it has slots in the bottom so the babies can safely drop down away from the mother. she will eat the babies if given the chance.. if you do not want the box, invest in lots of plants so the babies can hide. put her in the box when she looks like she is going to explode if she gets any bigger. once or twice a day, lift the box up and down gently to help circulate the water inside. do not be surprised if most of the babies happen to die before you release them. it's natural.

No that's no longer favourite. Guppies provide start to stay fry so while you're seeing little balls those are ineffective ones. If the fish is under pressure she would be able to abort or reabsorb the fry. From shifting her and conserving her in a small tank that probable isn't cycled or has a clear out she has probable aborted the fry. sparkling out the balls, they're ineffective toddlers. **

Mostly she is pregnant! If she came from a tank with males in it then you can bet she is. Is she in the tank alone? Are you sure it's a female?

she has a dark spot by her butt. umm if you want to keep any babies at all go to the fish store and get a breeding chamber. not a net breeder tho those dont work..feed the babies crushed up food. umm...thats it?
