cardbus nic boot failier only means that it couldnt boot from network that's something you dont have to worry about because your computer is not made to do that and it most likely only showing it because it could not boot from Hard Drive.
if the hard drive is not being recognized it could be that your hard drive went bad, which is common, you'll need to get a new hard drive and re-install windows and all the programs.

Difficult question I was with you right up and until the bit about the CD ROM? remove all CD`s from the CD drive does it it still take 10 Min's to load? nothing should be loading from a CD drive when windows starts it should all be coming from the hard drive.
