I'm in a dilemma over flying my boyfriend out to Atlanta,Ga to see me even if he is not guaranteed to pay me

I go to college in Georgia, my boyfriend is in California, my home town... we've been together for six months, but I've known him for four years. we won't be together for Valentine's day. I've been really depressed and I just want him hear with me no matter what. He says he will pay me back but I don't know if the money will come soon enough...Should I just buy the ticket and shut up?

If you don't care that you will probably never see the money again...then pay...but if you need the money...maybe a long phone call is all you can get.
