she hired me on, but then after one day of working I realized she had lied to me about the work. she told me that i would be warm calling instead it's cold calling and telling them that they had filled out information to get the call when they didn't. there r quotas that she has to get in order for her clients to be happy. i didn't get any appointments set for today and she became annoyed with me. she is now accusing of being too professional on the phone. she ended up telling me this in front of another co worker who is a horrible gossip & nosey. she also said i sounded "choppy on the phone". i called her bk to let her know that i was upset that she critiqued me in front of someone else. she then told me that she hears me getting annoyed with customers when they cut me off. this is not at all the case since I remain professional as she says and told me that i did extremely well my first week. how should i deal with her when she says one thing and then another which aren't true?

with her telling me that i get annoyed with ppl i find it hard to believe that she would let me sit there and not intervene. so that doesn't make sense.

Unless you have an emotional attachment to this job, look for something else. Life is too short to be miserable. I too work for a boss that does a lot of double talk, but he also takes credit for my work and belittles my position to make sure that I understand where I belong. However my motivating factor is that this is very close to my house, and it pays the bills. When I need to leave for my kids- I do. I am also going to school at night and hope to be accepted into the Dental Hygiene program within the next year, then I will gladly say good bye. If you can't leave then make the job work for you.

Good Luck.

Hi, you work for a telemarketer or some other place that's selling something through cold calls, so integrity is not their thing. They use badgering and determination to try to break through and make money. They will want you to be overly aggressive and that tends to be the personality type that does well there, like your boss. If I were you I'd find another job fast. It doesn't sound like you are made out for that kind of work, and few people would be happy in that environment. If you need to tell a future employer why you left, tell them upfront that you were led to believe you were going into customer service, and it turned out to be a cold calling scam. No one would fault you for wanting to do a job that was on the level, or for the job you originally interviewed for. Start looking for another job, since you can't make this one better. Good luck.

Sorry ...your boss is a whack job...certainly NOT your fault...your question/dilemma makes good sense. Start looking for another job...you don't have time to waste being miserable and trying to out guess what your wannabe upwardly mobile sham for a boss will come up with next. Best of luck to you!

Mate, I would tell her to stick her job where the sun wont shine. She sounds like a right sour cow.
I'm glad i don't have those hassles as I work for myself online and enjoy every minute of it.

Life is far toooooo short to have wallies like that in your life.

You will be dead alot longer than you are going to be alive. MOVE ON

Enjoy your life.

All the best to you
