Please. Are you saying you’re not human? Humans are not stupid. At least not all of them. Some are more gullible than others, but that keeps things interesting. I had to deal with someone at work today with a huge superiority complex. Having to deal with people that act like they’re perfect and never make mistakes and therefore blame everything on anyone else instead of taking responsibility for themselves is stupid. I get the sense from your question that you also might also have a similar superiority complex. I know that most people are not stupid, and no one is perfect. Anyone who says otherwise with words or actions are the real fools. Instead of viewing people critically from the pedestal you’ve perched yourself on, get back to reality and recognize that you’re human too.

that's a good question. With all due respect, ask a monkey and see how it responds.

hmmm, can't ask the monkey?

Maybe you should elaborate: What are you comparing us to that proves we're so stupid? We're the only animal that contemplates mortality, so technically we're smarter than any other animal.

Maybe you're inquiring about ignorance. Well, Blaise Pascal
wrote that there are two types of ignorance: a natural ignorance that all mankind has because it accompanies birth and an ignorance reached by the intellects; "having run through all that men can know, find they know nothing, and come back again to that same ignorance from which they set out; but this is a learned ignorance which is conscious of itself"

Basically, we're ignorant because we don't know that we should know more or because we've learned that we can't learn it all. Pascal believed that the stupid people were the ones that departed from the one extreme (the one that begins at birth) and had not reached the other. I agree with him.

I think it's the other way around. We're too smart for our own good. We know about our mortality and try our whole lives to understand why we die and how to deal with that fact. Animals live their lives, then go someplace alone when it's their time. This just gives the illusion the animals are smarter when dealing with death, when actuality they put no thought into it.

It's not all humans. We are not as a species stupid or limited. Just too many people live their lives trying to gain other things instead of knowledge. A lot of people have lost the urge to learn and grow. I call it "double-dumb". They're too dumb to realize they are dumb. People put themselves on such high pedestals, they forget that there is always something more to reach for, more knowledge to gain!

Scientists have always told us that humans use a very small portion of their brain to get through life.

Can we use the rest of it for something or is the brain waiting to evolve like all other human body organs?

When the brain has evolved enough to where we are using most of it to get through life we may seem a bit smarter to you at that point.

NO WE WON'T... ...YOU WANT BE ALIVE LONG ENOUGH TO WORRY ABOUT IT. YOU ARE ONLY ON THIS PLANET FOR MERE SECONDS WHEN YOU COMPARE IT TO ETERNITY!

So why worry about how smart people are.

We only use a small fraction of our brains and are still quite primative in behavior. We focus so much on the lower levels of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, that we have trouble reaching and attaining the higher levels.

In my travels so some distance, people are the most smart beings I actually have ever met. no longer all are unaware of their personal mortality, besides the undeniable fact that those that are are neurotic, paranoid weirdos, who stay their lives in consistent worry so I see being blind ones personal mortality as a diverse earnings.

Watching too much 'reality' television is a start. Watching TV actually flatlines your brainwaves. You don't think when you watch TV. I think that is why people seem to be getting dumber.

It's either that, or blame the school system, ha ha!

this probably doesn't answer your question very well, but i think sciences biggest mistake is believing everything around them could be understood, that human intelligence should be able to match godly intelligence
