First, take a deep breath and calm down...Being calm is a key to an answer you look for.
Since you have been with your boyfriend for over a year, you should know what kind of person he is. Think calmly, you should be able to tell what to get him. Don't worry, you'll be fine.
I'm sure he'll like it no matter what you pick. Since you've thought about it, took time and went to get it just for him. It's always not a gift that matters...it's the heart and the thought behind it.

Depends on what his hobbies are/what he likes and how much youre willing to spend..You can try looking around in Things Remembered at your local mall (when i was with a guy i had no idea what to get him and i went in there and found tons of cool stuff!) or get him his fav colonge, or a nice sweater from his fav store.

After 1 1/2 years, you should know quite a bit about him. Get him something that is his passion -- music, sports, movies. Something that says you have been listening and know what he is about.
